Trading Times

Not only is it important to choose your currencies well, but it is also important to choose the times of day to trade well. For example, a lot of traders live in the US and they generally do not trade (and therefore do not contribute to the movement of the graphs) outside of working hours. The three most important time areas are those which cover Europe, America and the East (Singapore/Hong Kong/Japan). Below is a list of the opening times of the markets in their respective countries:

 Market hours

An investigation into trading volumes at various hours of the day will demonstrate that the two most influential periods are European and American hours. Even if we consider the pair AUDJPY (Australian dollar verses the Japanese Yen), their greatest trading volumes are found at about 08:00 GMT (the beginning of the European day) and at about 14:00 GMT (the beginning of the American day).
